For those of you who are new to Website design, hosting and Promoting you will find below some basic information about Exchanges and how they Work and more to the point how ours works. We will not be covering features we do not have, we don't want people to be lead here by a search engine and discover it was not what they were looking for as its incredibly annoying.

What Is A Banner Exchange?

An Internet advertising network that swaps banner ads among its members. Each time a member site displays an ad from the network, it receives some amount of credit that is used to display its own banner in the network. Also called a "banner swap network," some banner exchanges offer a "click exchange," in which credit is given when someone clicks on the ad, not just the impression on the page.

Our network has a 2:1 swap ration, this means for every 2 banners you show on your website you will have one shown on another members site. We also offer credits for when a banner is clicked on from your site as it shows the banner is in a visible place. We also offer packages where you can by Credits for more banner displays, for people who either want to expand there advertising quickly or have so few hits on there site to start with they need a boost of visitors to get them started. This method of Traffic exchanging is for web masters to share there visitors with one and other.

What Is a start page Exchange?

A start page exchange is formed when you set a "Start page URL as your home page" for example "http://www.murs.org.uk/start.php? uid=2" is one of our start page URLs. This means when you open your web browser it will automatically point your browser to a random website in our exchange network and another exchange member will be shown yours.

Our network has a 2:1 swap ratio, this means for every 2 websites you view from other members one will be shown yours. As with the banners you can buy credits that allow you to have a larger level of exposure. This system is normally used to either build up additional credits for banners and pop-ups or to show your website to other members who may be interested in it.

What Is a Pop-up Exchange?

A pop-up (or popup) exchange is a system where you place some code into your webpage that upon loading will create a pop-up over the top of your website showing another members website in the window. This is a great way to earn credits and to gain visits to your website. On the downside pop-ups are considered intrusive most people have pop-up blockers preventing the popup from loading and stopping the website that should be displayed from loading and preventing you from getting the credit. Also a website loading over the top of yours may make the end user decide they do not wish to visit your site again losing both member of this particular type of exchange visitors. For these reasons it has more or less been superseded by the pop-under exchange system.

Although we do not recommend pop-up exchanges we do offer them as it is your choice as to how you wish to promote your site and our responsibility to provide you with the tools you need for free! Our pop-up exchange operates at a 2:1 ratio so every 2 pop-ups shown on your website you will earn on advert else where this is a good way to increase hits to your site, but will not necessarily get you repeat users. We recommend if you choose to use any pop feature that you use our pop-under system.

What Is a Pop-under Exchange?

A pop-under (or popunder) exchange is a system where you place some code in your website and upon loading it will open another window behind the current browser window the end user is working with. In this new window another members website will be displayed. Because pop-unders are so un-intrusive the user does not notice the window containing the other site until that have finished with yours preventing them being driven away from your site by the pop-under. End users are more likely to browse the pop-under window when they are finished as it does not interfere with the process they are already performing. This system will drive both visitors and hits to your site although may be blocked by some pop-up blockers.

Our pop-under system operates on a 2:1 ration for every 2 pop-unders you show, your pop-under will appear on another website once. As with all parts of our exchange you can also buy extra credits for additional displays.

What Is an Exit Exchange?

An arrangement between two or more sites in which each site shows advertisements for other sites in exchange for the others doing the same. By placing some code on your website when your visitor leaves it will show them another members site.

Our exit exchange system operates on a 2:1 ratio just like every other part of our exchange system. So for every 2 sites you display your site will appear in another sites exit exchange once. This is a great way of earning credits, displays, and getting repeat visitors. As with any other part of our exchange network you can buy additional credits if you so wish.
